Kansas City has a rich history of varied artistic contributions from its native African-American citizens. Reflecting the Times captures three non-monolithic perspectives in the areas of music, society, culture, and landscape. Although kindred by skin color, each artist’s style and interpretation of KC life are unique, as reflected in how their artistic approaches, techniques, and disciplines add layers of interest to engage the viewer. Reflecting the Times includes works by Kansas City-based artists Harold Smith, Stefan Jones, and Jason Piggie.
